njoroge karumba

Njoroge is the apprentice at Tatunka Tattoo.

He first wanted to tattoo when he worked in a tattoo studio in Germany. He learned a lot during that stay and started tattooing his first clients while there. He moved back to the States in late 2020 and knew tattooing was the career he wanted to pursue. After apprenticing at a few other local shops he finally found himself at Tatunka Tattoo and knew this was the perfect fit for him. Despite everything he has learned from other artists he met, he finds Tatunka to have the right atmosphere and culture for learning.

He enjoys doing tattoos with a darker theme, but will do whatever his clients bring to him. Bold line work and lots of heavy contrasting shadows are things that he appreciates, but he enjoys doing color as well. Making clients happy with a custom piece of artwork is the goal. He prefers to draw his own pieces or modify an existing piece to make his tattoos as unique as his clients.
